Alanna Is A Houston based artist and most recently directed “A Doll’s House Part 2” by Lucas Hnath at 4th Wall Theatre Company. She holds a MFA in Directing from Actors Studio Drama School, where she studied with Elizabeth Kemp, Susan Aston, Andreas Manolikakis, Brian Rhinhart, and Edward Allen Baker. After graduating she became a member of the Playwright Directors Unit at the Actors Studio. She has BFA in Theatre Arts, with majors in Acting and Directing from Five Towns College, and an Associate Degree in Acting from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  Alanna has a certificate in Leading Workplace Diversity From Rice University’s School of Business, and has studied Intimacy direction with Adam Noble. She has served as an Intern and Teaching Artist at the Young Performers Studio at The Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas and worked with the Center Stage program for public schools in Queens, New York, sponsored by Queens Theatre In The Park.

Alanna spent over ten years in New York City, working in TV, Film, and Theatre. This is where she discovered her love of directing, further broadening her skill set and leveraging her scope of the dramatic arts.  Although a Texas native, she spent most of her childhood abroad, growing up in Hong Kong and Melbourne, Australia. This cultivated an interest in exploring and understanding different cultures. She has been to 44 countries and spent 6 months solo backpacking around the world, before returning to home to Houston.
